Here is the hat I was working on. I have been meaning to post a photo for a while. It was going to be for myself but halfway through I decided I wanted a darker color. Trading the hat for a new printer thanks to a friend.
Starting the first cowl for the “new line” for the shop tonight. I’m diggin’ it.
My second “Big Bad Baby Blanket” is finished, well almost. It needs some blocking which will be done tomorrow.
This time around it felt like forever.
I am hoping that my friend/tattoo artist and his wife like the color. The brand of yarn I picked for this project doesn’t come in a large variety of colors and I don’t like using obvious baby colors. Since fall is coming this dark grey just jumped out at me and made me feel cozy.
It is knit with Caron Simply Soft in charcoal. I usually don’t care for this yarn but when it comes to baby knits, it is washable and if it stretches out from use it will shrink back to size when it is washed. Washable is super important! If I make another one I am going to look into using a different yarn, maybe from KnitPicks or something.
On to the next project!
next project is going to be for myself, it’s about damn time!
Waiting for purse handles from Hong Kong - taking forever! SO large purses are on hold for the moment. I am working on a little pouch/accessory bag to keep me busy while I am waiting. I like how it is turning out but I think my gauge is a little tighter than it should be. Hopefully the finished product turns out.
I have a long list of project ideas I want to try out for my esty shop - so I am going to be a pretty busy girl this summer. I hope I can make a few more sales when I put some summery things up.
Back to the needles and How I Met Your Mother. (just started this a few days ago on netflix - I was missing out!)
(Also, dog feet are cute).
starting another purse pattern.
I am hoping that after I get a few of these simple ones done I will be able to try coming up with more difficult and interesting purses instead of plain and simple. It is not an easy feat to design your own knits, but it is something that I really want to keep trying.
I am also itchin’ to start dyeing yarn again. I can’t wait until things bloom and it warms up so AJ and I can go out into the woods and find all kinds of plants and flowers to collect for natural dyes. It has been way too long!
Have you ever designed your own purse?
